Beechwood Walk

Taking moments of quiet reflection in our daily lives is crucial for maintaining balance and focus. To achieve this, I have developed a habit of going for a daily walk, seeking inspiration for my next painting.

Recently, I had the pleasure of strolling through a beech wood during the budding season. The soft rustling sound of the young golden leaves, gently swaying in the breeze, compelled me to pause, sit, and immerse myself in the beauty of my surroundings. The sunlight cascaded upon the trees, illuminating one side while casting enchanting shadows on the other.

This serene experience served as the inspiration for my latest painting. The winding path through the ancient beech trees, which have gracefully stood for over a century, became the focal point of my artwork. The weathered drystane wall and the moss-covered boulders and stones scattered along the path added to the picturesque scene, which I knew I had to capture on my watercolour canvas.

By embracing these moments of tranquillity and finding inspiration in nature’s wonders, I believe we can infuse our artwork with the beauty and serenity we encounter in our surroundings.
