As you gaze upon my watercolour painting of Eas a’ Bhradain, a breathtaking waterfall nestled in the rugged and wild Isle of Skye, you can almost feel the mist from the cascading water on your face. Using sketching, watercolour paints, and brush strokes, I’ve captured the natural detail and stunning beauty of the location, bringing it to life in vivid shades of green and brown that depict the rocky terrain around the waterfall. Located on the main A87 road from Broadford to Portree, the Eas a’ Bhradain waterfall is a popular tourist attraction in the Isle of Skye. It’s situated just west of Luib, at the head of Loch Ainort, in an area called Blackhill that spans the river Allt Coire nam Bruadarum. The waterfall is one of many on the Isle of Skye, fed by the abundant rainfall that falls on the west coast of Scotland and the Black Cullin Mountains in the area, which feeds the associated river.
