Sales Policy

Terms & conditions for the sale of any products on the John Gerrie Artwork website.

Other websites advertised on this website have their own Terms & Conditions.

General

The seller in these clauses is John C Gerrie

The sales contract is between the seller and the customer and it is governed by the laws of Scotland. This protects the customer when buying over the internet or by mail order and applies to all countries including member states of the EU.

Buying

Orders for goods sold on the website should be completed online. If you have difficulty ordering online please contact us using the contact details shown on the website.

No goods will be dispatched until payment is received in full.

The process of making an online purchase is explained in our help video.

Selling and shipping

Consumer contract regulations govern all sales that protects the customer when buying over the internet

  • All watercolours on this website are available for sale as mounted prints in A6, A4, and A3 sizes at the prices shown on the website.

  • All prices include VAT.
  • Every effort will be made to post the purchases within 5 working days of receiving payment and receipt of prints from suppliers
  • All postage and packaging is free within the UK by Royal Mail delivery for orders over £15.
  • Other destinations are available on request.
  • All packaging is robust to minimise the risk of damage in transit
  • Should damage occur, please let the seller know within 7 days of delivery.
  • Please note that any order posted out-with mainland UK may have customs, VAT, or like charges and handling fees that are the responsibility of the customer.

Returns / Refund Policy

The customer has a right to terminate the contract and return the item even if the item is not faulty in any way.

  • This is subject to exclusions detailed in ‘Cancelling a Transaction’ below.
  • The customer has the right to do this up to 14 days after receipt of the item
  • A full refund excluding the cost of the outgoing postage will be made within 14 days of the seller receiving the returned item. 
  • Note: although UK deliveries are ‘free’ they do have a cost.
  • The customer is responsible for paying the full cost of return postage.
  • Printed items sent that become faulty in transit are the responsibility of the mailing company; but may be replaced by the Seller depending on the circumstances and proof of damage shown as a gesture of goodwill between the parties.

Cancelling a transaction.

The customer must inform the seller if they wish to cancel the order and they must do this in writing (email is sufficient).

Customers do not have the right to cancel orders of products customized to the customer’s specifications or tailored specifically to the personal needs of the customer.

In the case of prepayment, if payment has not appeared in the account listed in the order confirmation within seven days, then the seller has the right to cancel the order and withdraw from the contract.

If the item has been sent the Seller will provide a refund of the cost of the item less the cost of the outgoing postage. Refund will be within 14 calendar days of receiving the returned item.

If the goods have not yet been sent, refunds will be provided within 14 days of receipt of the notification of cancellation.

Return of faulty goods.

The consumer has a right to return goods if they develop a fault within six months of receipt of the goods. Depending on the circumstances, they may be entitled to a refund (full or partial), a repair or replacement. 

Lost items.

If the item is lost in transit then, unless proven otherwise, the seller may assume the contract is terminated and provide a refund or continue the contract by delivery of another of the same item.
