The Caryatid – Echoes of Ancient Greece (Original)

    £220.00

My fascination with Ancient Greece inspired this pen and ink watercolour painting, a tribute to the iconic Caryatids – sculpted female figures serving as architectural columns.

Inspired specifically by the Erechtheion’s Porch of Maidens on the Athenian Acropolis, I’ve used detailed pen work and subtle watercolour washes.

My aim was to capture the timeless strength and serene beauty of these marble marvels, hoping to bring a whisper of classical history and artistic wonder into your home.

A painting of William Wallace’s statue in Aberdeen

This painting is a pen and ink drawing of the statue of William Wallace, the Scottish hero who fought for freedom from England in the Middle Ages. The statue, sculpted by William Grant Stevenson in 1888, stands on a pedestal with scenes from Wallace’s life and a quote from his speech.

The painting uses light blue washes to create a sky background that contrasts with the dark bronze statue.
