Loch Shiel with its beauty, light and history was a must to paint as a sympathetic watercolour. The painting was set along the lower length between Moidart and Sunart on a sunny summer day showing the strength of the colours and without the introduction of habitation

The vast mountain of Lochnagar has been a personal challenge to capture in a painting since I first climbed it in 1963.
The challenge was overcome in 2022 when a friend presented me with a photograph of Lochnagar he had recently taken when he was hillwalking.
