Some History
The Lighthouse stands on the Ardnamurchan Peninsular and soars some 35 metres above the rocks that runs alongside Loch Sunart and the Sound of Mull where the coasts meet as the most westerly point on the British mainland.
The Lighthouse cottages and outbuildings have been managed by the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse Trust since 1996.They have a number of Egyptian style decorative embellishments.
The Lighthouse is now completely automatic yet still fulfils a vital role in keeping ships safe when navigating the waters in that area.

The Ardnamurchan Lighthouse stands proudly against a dramatic sky. The beam stretching out to sea reminds me how vital these lights were. It’s an iconic view that feels both rugged and reassuring.
