Italian Dolomites Watercolour
The thought behind the painting was to set a subject where the farm buildings lie in lower meadow farmland basically looking up at the magnificence of the “Pale Mountains” still under their snow covering.
This watercolour uses sketching to paint the buildings in detail and the mountain top as well.
The intervening areas are light washes that hint at the details in the snow-filled valleys which the viewer will conceive in their own mind.
The track is generally systematic of the road structure in the area as the countryside.
