The sketching incorporates the various single parts and is washed in with differing strengths to give a depth of field.
The sky plays a major part in setting the scene adding the coldness to the watercolour and reflects the ground lying snow.
The buildings dykes and bushes partly painted provides a sense of deep snow that falls overwinter in the Cairngorms.
The painting requires thought in advance of brush strokes.
Similar scenes should be valued as they may be disappearing gradually due to the effects of global warming.

This winter glen looks magical. The muted purples and blues capture that special winter light, and the winding path makes me want to wrap up warm and go for a wander.
