Castle Fraser from South West (Original)
£300.00
Castle Fraser from the southwest gives scope to paint a number of textures and colours shown on the walls. The watercolour painted from ground level shows the difficult work in the construction of the building. The intensified sky and green landscape provides washes that give the Castle importance in itself.

Some History
Castle Fraser is an impressive preserved 15th century Z plan tower house complex.
The great round tower and one projecting wing form a four-storey fortification originally built by the mason John Bell and acquired by the Fraser family.
The property was taken over by The National Trust for Scotland in 1976

Henry –
This view of Castle Fraser feels grand yet welcoming. I like how the old stone walls are softened by the greenery and open sky. It makes me imagine standing there on a breezy afternoon.
