Brief History
Drum Castle built by Alexander III is the oldest inhabited 13th-century tower of 4 storeys.
Additions were constructed during the 16th, 17th and 19th centuries by the Irvine family. They reflect the differing building styles through history ending with the Hanoverians.
The National Trust for Scotland took over the Castle and lands in 1975.

Isla –
Drum Castle looks so stately here with its tower and surrounding trees. I like how the artist has softened the stone with gentle greens. It makes the scene feel lived in rather than austere.
