Sandstone Bay watercolour was inspired from a picture along the western cost of Canada. Shorelines are always an attraction to the eye that exudes solitude, silence or excitement depending on the subject matter painted.
Any shore is always a painting challenge given the changing tide using both washes and detail; the wetting and drying of the sand and stonework, the height and force of the waves that has to express the moment; watercolours are the most difficult medium to catch those properties to express a mood to marry with any sky painted.
