Welcome to my newsletter!
I am thrilled to announce my upcoming watercolour exhibition, taking place from the 8th to the 10th of June at the Conference Room in the Four Mile Restaurant and Pub, Kingswells, Aberdeen. The exhibition will be open daily from 12 noon to around 7 pm.
While you can view my watercolours on my website, they truly come alive when seen in person. At the exhibition, you will find all paintings carefully mounted and displayed to highlight the time, care, and emotion that went into creating them.
This month, I have added two new pieces to the collection aand they will be available on the website (next week) and at the exhibition:
The Water of Tanar - a second painting of this beautiful subject, with the original being a commissioned piece.
The Statue of Robert the Bruce - capturing the historic moment in front of Marischal College, where Robert the Bruce holds the Charter of the Lands of Stocket.
These artworks span a variety of subjects, inspired by suggestions from friends and my own experiences. They aim to evoke the emotions I felt during their creation, touching on well-known local scenes and memories from further afield.
All paintings are available for sale on my website or at the exhibition. I have discounted the original paintings included below. They are sold without frames and are priced at £150.
I invite you to join me in this journey of artistic expression. Spend some time reflecting on my work, and consider subscribing to my monthly newsletter to become part of my watercolour painting family.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
I hope you enjoy the newsletter and browsing the artwork on my website.

Nestled along the banks of the River Medway, Aylesford is a picturesque village. The timeless charm and natural beauty have inspired countless artists to capture its essence on canvas, and it is with great pleasure that I present my watercolour painting of Aylesford Bridge.

Estuary at Faversham Safe Mooring For Sailing Ships (Original)
Estuary at Faversham is a watercolour showing that mooring. It has been a natural waterway on the south coast of England for millennia. Sailing ships have moored there in safety from the winds and storms that blew along the English Channel.
The painting is plain, the detail is deliberately minimal. The washes are colourful to compensate. The angry sky gives drama as a background.

Slains Castle An Unusual Perspective (Original)
Slains Castle is an unusual watercolour. The building is relatively unimpressive standing in a flat bland landscape. So, the watercolour focuses on some of the more interesting and worthy features. John, the artist, has used Pen and Ink outlining to bring out the detail.
