Crathes Castle by Banchory (Original)
£300.00
Crathes Castle by Banchory is an ideal subject to paint. The washes use the building textures to bring out colours that show their attraction between the background sky, the walls, and the green on which the building stands.

Some Crathes Castle History
Crathes replaced the original castle constructed by the Burnett Family at the Loch of Leys.
The 16th-century replacement is a four-storey castle square on plan. Further extensions have since been added, burned out and again replaced.
Crathes Castle is a magnificent country property. It emphasises the skills required by the masons involved in the construction. Its design was the basis used by some similar castles.
It sits on landscaped grounds with an exceptional garden. The Castle was taken over by the National Trust for Scotland in 1951.

Slains Castle An Unusual Perspective (Original)

Henry –
The red-roofed tower against lush greenery feels like a page from a storybook. This painting captures both the grandeur and warmth of Crathes Castle. It makes me reminisce about childhood adventures in historic places.
