Sandend Village with Alison
Price range: £10.00 through £40.00
Sandend village is perhaps one of the most attractive and smallest of the many old fishing villages scattered along the north-facing coasts of Moray and Aberdeenshire. ย Artists admire this view, and the end-on houses pointing to the sea are a prime subject to paint.
Sandend Village With Alison Watercolour
My painting is based on a warm tranquil summer day when I visited with my wife. The washes painted into the picture reflect my feelings.
This watercolour has a special meaning for me. We found the whole atmosphere a special place of calm that will remain with me forever.
Sandend Village Brief History
Sandend was a thriving fishing village in the 17th century with its own smokehouses.
By the 20th century, there were two small harbours with neat single-storey cottages end-on to the sea and a thriving community.
Sandend benefits from a mild climate and a long sandy beach that attracts holidaymakers and tourists alike.
It is in this village where John Sangster Jnr made his long case (grandfather) clocks between 1820 and 1840

Alice –
Excellent pictures. All of them actually, but this is one of my favourites.
Detail very accurate, colours apt.
These paintings should be on display often at different venues e.g. craft fairs.
